This campaign was initiated and developed by students at the Daily Schmooze in response to the recent spike in antisemitism.
Our Message
“Antisemitism Awareness Day” on May 16 is a Day of Action fully conceived and developed by
college interns as part of the Social Media Climate Initiative social media internship program, meant to raise
awareness about antisemitism, talk about the experience of being Jewish on college
campuses, and push back through education and ally participation. Join us to make a positive
impact on the Jewish community and beyond.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
The number one best way to get involved on May 16 is by sharing social media content,
especially on Instagram and TikTok, with the campaign hashtag:
#AntisemitismAwareness
Starting at 9am EST, interns and partner organizations will be sharing content all day long, and
we’d love for you to help this campaign gain traction online that day.
WHO IS Social Media Climate Initiative, AND WHAT IS @DAILYSCHMOOZE:
Social Media Climate Initiative is a global Jewish organization that is committed to creating a vibrant, committed, and
inspired Jewish future. We believe that education and engagement are the keys to creating a
strong Jewish identity and countering antisemitism. Our goal is to empower Jewish
communities around the world to become leaders in their fields and to inspire others to do
the same.
The goal of the social media internship program is to provide the next generation of Jewish
leaders with the skills to become online advocates. Social Media Climate Initiative provides a unique opportunity for
college students to gain practical social media skills through hands-on training while
contributing to the fight against antisemitism, working closely with staff members to develop
strategies and content that engage with audiences and inspire them to take action. The
@DailySchmooze social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok were fully conceptualized
and developed by our social media interns, who also provide the content which showcases
their Jewish heritage and everyday lived experience.
